Residents of the La Veleta district in Tulum are expressing concern over the increasing number of mechanic shops and blacksmiths that have begun to clutter public streets with abandoned cars and broken down motorcycles. This has led to significant obstructions to pedestrian traffic, with 8 Sur Street, situated between Cobá and Tulum Avenue, being particularly affected.
The streets have effectively been transformed into makeshift junkyards, with vehicles undergoing repair and industrial materials such as metal and aluminum beams littering the area. This not only disrupts mobility but also contributes to a sense of disorder and insecurity among the residents.
In response to these concerns, local residents have anonymously reached out to the Traffic and Mobility authorities of the Solidaridad municipality. They have urgently requested that action be taken to restore order and ensure the streets are clear and safe for pedestrian use.
