Guadalajara, Mexico — Quintana Roo’s athletes have secured a total of 71 medals at the CONADE 2025 National Olympics, including 25 gold, 25 silver, and 21 bronze. The state’s success was driven by standout performances in swimming and roller skating events.
Swimming Dominance at the Metropolitan Aquatic Center
In swimming competitions held at Guadalajara’s Metropolitan Aquatic Center, Quintana Roo’s team claimed 21 medals: 10 gold, five silver, and six bronze.
Carlotta Martínez emerged as a national champion in the Women’s 15-16 200-meter Backstroke, defeating competitors from Coahuila and Puebla. Oliver Spencer Lund also secured gold in the Men’s 15-16 200-meter Backstroke, outperforming swimmers from Guanajuato and Baja California.
The Women’s 4×100 Freestyle Relay team—composed of Blanca Patricia Vázquez, Carlotta Martínez, Adriana Vique, and Viviana Duarte—delivered a dramatic victory over teams from Jalisco and Baja California. Meanwhile, the Men’s 15-16 4×100 Freestyle Relay team, featuring Jack Oliver Lund, Pablo Nieto, Mateo Téllez, and Yanni Blanco, earned silver.
Roller Skating Success in Guadalajara
At the Revolución Sports Unit Skating Rink in Guadalajara, Quintana Roo’s roller skaters added six more medals to the tally: one gold, four silver, and one bronze.
Victoria Alejandra Marín Flores of Cancún claimed gold in the Junior Women’s 200-meter Point-to-Point event. Other notable performances included:
- Eddi Pech Martínez (Isla Mujeres) winning silver in the Junior Men’s 200-meter Point-to-Point.
- Vivían Michelle Morfín Castañeda (Playa del Carmen) securing silver in the Senior Women’s 200-meter Point-to-Point.
- Luis Arturo Hernández Cruz (silver) and Marcelo Ramses Lozano Lozano (bronze), both from Playa del Carmen, in the Senior Men’s 200-meter Point-to-Point.
- Victoria Gameba García Güemez (Cancún) earning silver in the Girls’ 100-meter Point-to-Point.
State Officials Celebrate Athletes’ Achievements
Jacobo Arzate, head of Quintana Roo’s Sports Commission, emphasized the importance of supporting athletes during the competition. “Being with our athletes fulfills two objectives: supporting and celebrating their achievements while ensuring they receive the necessary care so they can focus solely on competing,” he said.
The state’s strong showing at the CONADE 2025 National Olympics highlights the growing prowess of Quintana Roo’s athletes in national sports competitions.
