Long Break Alert! Quintana Roo Students Enjoy Extended 5-Day Vacation in March 2025

An empty classroom with chairs upturned on desks, a chalkboard filled with writing, and a hanging sign that reads "NO HAY CLASES" in Spanish, indicating no classes are being held.

Quintana Roo students are set for a long break beginning Friday, February 28th, 2025. According to the School Calendar of the Secretary of Education of Quintana Roo, the technical council meeting with the teaching staff will be held on this day. Consequently, there will be no classes.

Following this, classes will be suspended on Monday, March 3rd, and Tuesday, March 4th, due to a work suspension for teachers. Therefore, the last day of classes will be Thursday, February 27th, and students will not return until Wednesday, March 5th. This effectively creates a week-long break in Quintana Roo during March.

The Quintana Roo School Calendar for the 2025-2026 cycle also outlines other dates in March when classes will be suspended. For instance, on Monday, March 17th, there will be another work suspension for teachers, creating a long weekend. Students will resume classes on Tuesday, March 18th. This break is in observance of the anniversary of the Oil Expropriation.

Furthermore, on Friday, March 28th, another technical council meeting is scheduled. As a result, classes will conclude on Thursday, March 27th, and will not resume until Monday, March 31st.
