Cancún, Quintana Roo — Authorities in Quintana Roo have seized more than 100 kilograms of cocaine and arrested three suspects in a major drug operation, the State Prosecutor’s Office announced.
The operation, led by the State Prosecutor’s Office with support from the Mexican Army and National Guard, targeted a suspected drug trafficking network operating in the region. Officials reported that the suspects were caught red-handed during the raid, which took place at a property in the state’s interior.
In addition to the cocaine, authorities confiscated two vehicles, communication equipment, and a small amount of cash. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of several million pesos.
The three individuals arrested have been handed over to the State Prosecutor’s Office, where they face charges related to drug trafficking and organized crime. An investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope of the network and its connections.
This bust is part of broader efforts by state and federal authorities to combat drug trafficking in Quintana Roo, a key tourist destination that has seen increased criminal activity in recent years.
