PUERTO MORELOS, Mexico — The local government is inviting residents and tourists to participate in the seventh edition of the "Janal Pixan La Ruta de los Altares" (The Route of the Altars) event. Authorities will be raffling off several prizes for the individuals who win in the lottery organized for this occasion.

The "Muertobús" will begin boarding passengers at 6:00 pm on the upcoming dates of November 1 and 2. Those who board early will be able to observe as the residents of Puerto Morelos begin to turn on the lights and candles with which they seek to illuminate their home exteriors.

The reason for this is that the residents will be placing altars on their facades to remember their traditions and their deceased loved ones. All of this is part of both the Janal Pixan celebration and the Day of the Dead. Several activities are planned for the Day of the Dead.

Tourists will be able to see all the altars and offerings that families have prepared for the route from the bus unit. Those who wish to observe more closely and in detail will be able to do the tour on foot to enjoy the view, as well as the creativity of the families in the municipality.
