A public Wi-Fi module in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Puerto Morelos has inaugurated free public Wi-Fi zones at two key locations in the municipality, a service announced by Governor Mara Lezama and Municipal President Blanca Muñoz. The initiative aims to support local businesses and enhance tourism by providing high-speed internet access.

Location and Purpose of Wi-Fi Zones

The free Wi-Fi points are located at Parque Fundidora and Muelle de Pescadores, both popular tourist areas that also host numerous businesses previously facing internet connectivity issues. According to authorities, the connection is fast and was installed by GigNet.

This program, led by Governor Mara Lezama, seeks to assist Puerto Morelos businesses by enabling access to an internet network for digital payments or bank transfers at all times. Additionally, it aims to increase tourism by allowing foreign visitors to connect in these two tourist zones if they lack signal or global coverage during their stay, making Puerto Morelos more attractive.
