PUERTO MORELOS, Mexico — Representing Municipal President Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, the Secretary of Sustainable Tourism, Raúl Guadarrama García, inaugurated the exhibitions "The Tenure of Time" and "The Illusion of Time" at the Puerto Morelos Cultural Center and Museum.

During the official ceremony, the official thanked Domingo Álvarez and Daniel Valle, who are jointly exhibiting eight photographs and eight artisan works, for considering Puerto Morelos to mount this exhibition. The event is part of the first edition of Design Week Riviera.

"Puerto Morelos offers an exceptional setting for young artists to show their talent and make their works known, products of dreams and experiences," he added. "We hope this also encourages young people from Puerto Morelos to show their creativity and develop their potential."

For her part, Marisol Foyo Niembro, director of the Cultural Center and Museum, stated that the doors of that venue will always be open to artists and artisans who wish to publicize or exhibit works in the different branches of the plastic arts.

"As artists, they have developed personal techniques and use materials that few can imagine to create their works," she added. "We applaud and appreciate their creativity and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome them again."

Domingo Álvarez, originally from Puebla and a resident of the Riviera Maya for two years, is exhibiting eight photographs that, according to his explanation, reflect his identity, his past, present, life, and death.

Furthermore, he said that the idea with Design Week Riviera is to bring art and culture to the Mexican Caribbean every year in the month of September.

For his part, Daniel Valle, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, who has also been in the Riviera Maya for two years, said that his works reflect reflections on different aspects of life. His pieces, which include mobiles and lamp shades, are made primarily from paper and cardboard.
