Cancún — The General Directorate of the Cancún Fire Department responded promptly to a report of a fire in a green area located in an irregular zone known as Colonia Margarita. The alert was received by the C-5 emergency service, which immediately mobilized unit 954 from the central base.
Upon arrival at the scene, the team proceeded to contain a fire in a hollowed-out area measuring 5 by 6 meters, where tires, polystyrene, polyurethane, wood scraps, and drywall filler material were burning. Unit 01 of the Civil Protection service from the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres also participated in the control and extinguishing efforts.
Thanks to the rapid and coordinated action of both emergency corps, the fire was controlled without greater risks to the nearby population.
