Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Municipal authorities have officially announced the artistic and musical program for the Puerto Aventuras Carnival 2026, one of the community’s most representative celebrations, which this year will focus on order, security, and strengthening social and tourism ties.
During the presentation, Eduardo Asencio Martínez, honorary president of the Playa del Carmen DIF System, representing Mayor Estefanía Mercado, stated that Puerto Aventuras is solidifying its position as a strategic venue within the Playa del Carmen Carnival, thanks to coordinated work between the local government and municipal authorities.
“Puerto Aventuras will have a dignified, well-organized, and, above all, safe carnival, where families can gather with tranquility, joy, and pride. This effort reflects this government’s social commitment to its community,” Asencio Martínez said.
He emphasized that the carnival parade will cover 2.5 kilometers, allowing for greater citizen participation and broader event visibility in the municipality, strengthening community ties and a sense of belonging.
Municipal Tourism Secretary Estefanía Hernández Flores highlighted that the Puerto Aventuras municipality will be promoted as a micro-tourism destination through this festival.
“We want more visitors to get to know Puerto Aventuras, its beauty, and its people. The carnival is an opportunity to project the municipality as a tourist attraction with its own identity,” she affirmed.
The official detailed that the artistic program will take place on February 16 and 17, with musical and cultural performances, plus a grand parade starting on Puerto Maya Avenue and ending at the Puerto Aventuras municipal headquarters, where an estimated 3,000 people per day are expected to attend.
“On February 16, the Caribbean trio ‘Playa Linda’ and ‘Comando Norteño’ will perform, while on February 17, Anabel Mendoza, the Dueto Rivera Sunset, and Johanka Machado ‘La Diosa y la Gitana de la Salsa’ will take the stage, ensuring two days of music, dance, and community,” Hernández said.
Puerto Aventuras Mayor Gilberto Gómez Martínez stated that the carnival represents a living expression of local identity and a gathering space for all families.
“The Puerto Aventuras Carnival is a celebration for the people. We thank the support of Mayor Estefanía Mercado, which has allowed us to preserve our traditions and provide the necessary conditions for this celebration to be enjoyed with enthusiasm and a family atmosphere,” he noted.
The Puerto Aventuras Carnival will feature 13 candidates for queens and kings in various categories, along with numerous troupes that will delight the public with colorful costumes and extravagant dances.
