Mexico City — Puebla has been officially announced as the host of the Tianguis Turístico México 2027, the most important event for the country's tourism sector. The decision followed a rigorous selection process conducted by the Selection Committee, according to the Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora.
The announcement highlighted that five states participated in the call for applications published on August 18 in the Diario Oficial de la Federación. These were: Mexico City, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Puebla, and Veracruz. The decision by the Committee was unanimous and the result of a detailed analysis of all proposals received.
Puebla as the Epicenter of Tourism
Puebla was chosen for its first-class infrastructure, connectivity, and tourism services, as well as for its commitments of complementary support, according to the Committee. This selection will allow the state to host representatives from all 32 Mexican states and more than 45 countries, consolidating its relevance on the national and international tourism map.
Preparations and Expectations for the Major Event
During the announcement, Secretary Rodríguez Zamora was accompanied by high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), the National Tourism Promotion Fund (Fonatur), hotel and business associations, as well as representatives from the airline and tourist transportation industries.
The designation of Puebla opens the door to extensive logistical and promotional preparations to ensure the Tianguis Turístico 2027 is carried out successfully. The goal is to showcase the state's tourism offerings and position it as a competitive and attractive destination for national and international visitors.
