The small fishing village of Puerto El Cuyo, known for its natural beauty and growing tourist appeal, is opening a new Oxxo store, with the aim of improving the services available to visitors and residents.

With around 1,750 inhabitants, this port located northeast of Yucatán, on the border with Quintana Roo and within the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, receives tourists during holiday periods who seek to enjoy its beaches, practice kitesurfing, observe the local fauna, explore its streets by bicycle and practice activities such as Yoga.

The opening seeks to address the growing influx of visitors to this Yucatecan port.

The arrival of this convenience store chain responds to the need to offer more shopping options in a developing destination, especially during peak tourist seasons. “This opening represents a significant improvement in the service infrastructure for the community and visitors,” residents noted on social media.

Puerto El Cuyo continues to consolidate itself as a key point for ecological and adventure tourism on the Yucatan coast, and the presence of new commercial options contributes to making the experience of visitors more comfortable and complete, without losing the tranquil and picturesque essence that characterizes the place.
