Quintana Roo Students Return to School After Holidays

Students returning to classrooms in Quintana Roo after holiday break

Cancún, QRoo — Following three weeks of vacation for the December holidays, more than 300,000 basic education students in Quintana Roo will return to classrooms on Monday, January 12, to continue the 2025-2026 school year.

The break began on December 22, 2025, allowing families, students, and teachers to enjoy an extended Christmas and year-end period.

The school calendar schedules three consecutive weeks of instructional activities from January 12 to 30.

Friday, January 30, will be a non-working day for students due to the School Technical Council — with mandatory attendance for teachers — and Monday, February 2, is declared a national holiday for the anniversary of the Constitution.

With this return to classes, Quintana Roo aims to maintain academic momentum and utilize the calendar to balance learning with brief rest periods, promoting educational development alongside family enjoyment and boosting tourism in the state.
