New Primary School Construction Begins in Puerto Aventuras With 14.2 Million Peso Investment

Construction site for new primary school in Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo

Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo state government has started construction on a new primary school in Puerto Aventuras to accommodate the area’s growing population.

The project, managed by the state’s Institute of Educational Physical Infrastructure (Ifeqroo), involves an investment of 14,245,076.98 pesos. The first phase includes an administrative area, common spaces, one classroom, restrooms, a civic plaza, and a perimeter fence.

Local Mayor Gilberto Gómez Martínez said the new school will strengthen educational infrastructure as Puerto Aventuras continues to attract new families and students who need classroom space.

However, he noted the community still lacks a high school facility. Approximately 50% of middle school graduates must travel to other towns to continue their education, which he warned could lead to school dropout rates and other social risks.

Officials continue to work on providing local educational options for young people. The school is being built at the intersection of Caoba and Cedro streets in Puerto Aventuras.
