Margarita Carbajal Carmona, the president of the national federation of tourism businessmen, recently held a press conference to announce a new initiative. This proposal, which will be presented to the Union Congress, aims to reform the National Tourism Law.

The proposed changes are designed to address a variety of contemporary issues within the tourism industry. One such issue is the promotion of wine on digital platforms, which will be included in the General Tourism Law.

The initiative also underscores the need for updated legislation in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and unfair competition within the hotel sector. These updates are crucial in order to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

In addition to these technological considerations, the proposal also emphasizes the importance of raising public awareness about online scams. It stresses the need for tourists to verify the authenticity of travel offers they encounter online, to ensure they are not being deceived by fraudulent schemes.
