New Playa del Carmen Arch Boosts Security with Tech

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the Municipal President of Playa del Carmen, Estefanía Mercado, have inaugurated the new Access Arch to the City, an emblematic work symbolizing the identity, pride, and modernity of the most important tourist destination in the Riviera Maya.

Located at the northern access connecting to Cancún, the new arch represents the gateway to the heart of the Riviera Maya, where tourism, culture, and local pride converge.

During the ceremony, Governor Mara Lezama emphasized that this project, financed with municipal resources, demonstrates the joint work between the three levels of government to strengthen well-being and shared prosperity in Quintana Roo.

New Playa del Carmen Arch Introduces Advanced Security Technology

Municipal President Estefanía Mercado explained that the structure combines design, functionality, and technology, featuring a state-of-the-art video surveillance system connected to the Monitoring Center of the Playa del Carmen Secretariat of Citizen Security.

This system operates 24 hours a day, recording the entry and exit of vehicles, which reinforces the security of both inhabitants and tourists visiting the city.

During the event, Governor Mara Lezama recognized the effort of the Solidaridad City Council for promoting works that strengthen urban and tourist infrastructure. She underscored that this project reflects the commitment to continue building a sustainable tourism model, generating well-being for families, and fostering a prosperous future for Quintana Roo.

Mara Lezama reiterated that coordinated work with the municipalities allows for progress in the transformation of Quintana Roo, driving projects that reinforce the state's security, infrastructure, and economic development.

With works like the new Playa del Carmen Access Arch, the government reaffirms its commitment to promoting a safe, modern, and sustainable tourism model.
