Cancún, December 10. The general coordinator of Navidad en la Playa, Nicteha Sabido, announced that the seventh edition of the event has been rescheduled for Sunday, December 21 due to rain forecasts.
The presentation was originally planned for the 14th, but the change will allow the public to be received under better conditions and coincide with the arrival of more families and tourists during the holiday season.
Navidad en la Playa is a staging performed by families from a lay community, without economic purposes. The work recreates the birth of Jesus through a narration told by the character himself, from Mary’s acceptance to the visit of the Magi. The format, developed by the sea, attracts both visitors and residents.
In an interview with Radio Fórmula, Sabido highlighted that the project is sustained thanks to the voluntary participation of dozens of people who contribute time, scenery, and costumes. The organization also receives support from donors who help sustain the representation each year.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The event will be held at Playa Delfines. Although the representation will begin at 4:00 p.m., from noon there will be contemplation and adoration activities open to the public, whether or not they are Catholic.
Confessions will also be offered for those who wish, making the event an additional meeting space for tourists and residents.
The organization invites people to confirm attendance and check for updates on the “Evangelización Creativa” page on Facebook, as well as on the community’s social networks.
Among the novelties of this edition is the participation of Alma Raquel, 13 years old, who will play Mary. Her integration was described as a success due to her stage presence and the sweetness of her interpretation.
The production will also feature renewed scenery, including a 12-meter sky that will be illuminated by the natural light of sunset, one of the elements that each year defines the aesthetics of the work.
Sabido noted that the main attraction continues to be the environment. The sunset light, the sea, and the scenery create an atmosphere that has made the event a tradition for Cancún. High attendance is expected on December 21, from both local visitors and tourists who frequent Playa Delfines during the season.
The seventh edition of Navidad en la Playa will begin receiving the public from noon and will offer its main staging at 4:00 p.m.
