Mexican Navy Seizes 45 Cocaine Packages in Playa

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Mexican Navy has reported the seizure of 45 packages containing a white powder with characteristics similar to cocaine off the coast of Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

The action was carried out during maritime and land vigilance patrols by naval personnel to maintain the rule of law. The operation was supported by an interceptor patrol boat, a Defender-type vessel, a smaller boat, and Marines stationed in Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. The personnel located and recovered 45 rectangular packages wrapped in black plastic along the coastline.

Subsequently, the seized packages were turned over to the State Attorney General’s Office, headquartered in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, for the integration of the corresponding investigation file and the determination of the official weight.

These actions are part of the maritime and land surveillance operations conducted by the Secretariat of the Navy through the Mexican Navy in national waters. The operations aim to inhibit criminal activities in order to guarantee and maintain the rule of law in Mexican Maritime Zones.
