Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The Mexican Navy rescued two men found floating in the sea off Quintana Roo after a tanker crew spotted them, officials said.
The Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR) reported that personnel from the Naval Station for Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance (ENSAR) at Isla Mujeres responded to an emergency call saying a tanker had picked up the two men from the water.
A rescue boat from ENSAR Isla Mujeres was dispatched immediately and met the tanker about 15 nautical miles (28 kilometers) east of Isla Mujeres.
The two men were in good health and were transported to the naval station in Puerto Juárez, where they were turned over to the National Institute of Migration (INM) for the corresponding legal procedures.
