Cancún, MX — Under the leadership of Governor Mara Lezama, who promotes community tourism and shared prosperity with the artisans of Quintana Roo, the Mexican Caribbean has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Mexico’s cultural and luxury tourism by participating as an institutional ally in the Vogue Day of the Dead Gala 2025, one of the most important fashion and culture events in Latin America.
In this edition, held at the Ex Hacienda de Santa Mónica under the theme “Trascender” (To Transcend), Vogue México and Latinoamérica brought together prominent figures from art, fashion, and culture to pay homage to one of the country’s most emblematic traditions: the Day of the Dead. The participation of the Mexican Caribbean in this event consolidates a strategic alliance with high-reach national media, reinforcing the destination’s projection within the national market and showcasing its cultural richness beyond its natural landscapes.
During the gala, the Mexican Caribbean brought the essence of Quintana Roo to the fashion stage through the artisan textiles from Xpichil, in the community of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, crafted by the Lool Pich collective, led by Master Artisan Amanda Tah. These pieces were the result of a creative workshop headed by the renowned designer Carla Fernández and her team, who worked hand in hand with local artisans to create a collection that celebrated the identity and living Mayan cultural heritage.
Six garments were presented on the runway, symbolizing the fusion between contemporary art and ancestral techniques. The master artisans Amanda Tah, Fausta Coh Balam, and Liliana Dzul attended the gala and received recognition for their invaluable contribution to the rescue and preservation of the textile traditions of Quintana Roo.
“The alliance with Vogue México reinforces the vision of the Mexican Caribbean as a destination that offers not only natural beauty but also authenticity, history, and creativity. We are proud that our artisan communities are protagonists on stages where Mexico transcends borders,” stated the Quintana Roo Secretariat of Tourism.
The Mexican Caribbean, alongside international brands such as Porsche, L’Oréal Paris, Dobel Tequila, Hublot, Emwa, and Pandora, contributed to creating a multi-sensory experience where luxury, culture, and Mexican authenticity coexisted in perfect harmony.
With this collaboration, Quintana Roo reaffirms its leadership in cultural and luxury tourism, positioning its destinations—Cancún, Riviera Maya, Tulum, and Maya Ka’an—as ambassadors of Mexican art, tradition, and innovation to the world.
