Playa del Carmen — With a massive turnout and the presence of the entire municipal cabinet, the mega jornada “Chambamanía” was held this Saturday in the “La Guadalupana” subdivision, bringing completely free procedures and services, direct attention to citizens, and social support actions.
“In Playa del Carmen, we govern close to the people and with results; ‘Chambamanía’ is proof that we are where the citizens need us,” stated the Mayor, who was present listening to and addressing the needs of the residents of the first subdivision developed in Playa del Carmen.
Accompanied by the honorary president of the Municipal DIF, Eduardo Asencio, she toured the service modules, where municipal procedures and services open to the population were concentrated.
“This government works every day to resolve, support, and provide dignified services to Playa del Carmen families; that’s why we bring all the departments to the territory, so that no one is left without attention,” expressed the mayor while speaking with families.
The services offered included enrollment in social programs, guidance on housing and land regularization, legal and psychological assistance, vaccination for dogs and cats, free plant distribution, and nutritional guidance, among others.
During the tour, the Municipal President delivered food support from the “Playa Llena, Corazón Contento” program, coordinated by the Secretariat of Social Justice and Citizen Participation, without a formal ceremony and with open access to the public. She also donated mattresses from the Tren Maya to families in greatest need.
Additionally, she attended to dozens of families in what she called “El Día del Pueblo,” a space for public hearings where she directly listened to the requests and concerns of the area’s inhabitants.
“We are here to listen and to act; every request from the people is a responsibility we take seriously,” declared Estefanía Mercado during the citizen encounter.
Before leaving “La Guadalupana,” she assured that she will continue working with her team to transform each neighborhood with works, services, and permanent presence of the Municipal Government.
More than a dozen departments participated in the mega jornada, including DIF — with social assistance, education, mental health, general medicine, women’s attention, and adolescent pregnancy prevention — as well as Social Justice, Territorial Planning, Treasury, Environment, IMJUVE, Citizen Security, Civil Protection, Secretariat of Health, Inmujeres, and Municipal Health.
The activities were part of the community attention, citizen proximity, and urban improvement strategy promoted by the Playa del Carmen City Council.
