Man shot in Cancún after alleged inappropriate touching

Police investigation at Cancún shooting scene

A man was seriously wounded by gunfire in Cancún’s Region 259, though this incident may not be related to organized crime but rather retaliation after the injured man allegedly touched a woman.

The victim, whose identity has not been revealed, was urgently transported to the General Hospital by private paramedics, presenting at least one gunshot wound to the left shoulder.

The incident generated two conflicting versions about the motive for the attack. One line of investigation indicates that the subject allegedly attempted to touch a woman, provoking the reaction of armed individuals who shot him at least once.

However, a second version indicates that the man was summoned to a residence to perform masonry work and, upon arriving at the location, was attacked by gunfire without a clear motive at this time.

Investigating authorities have already taken knowledge of the case. Official inquiries, which include analysis of evidence and testimonies, will confirm which of these lines corresponds to what occurred or if it involves a different scenario.

The available information remains preliminary while the injured man receives medical attention to stabilize his health condition.
