Cancún, Mexico – An armed attack in the early hours of Tuesday morning left one man dead in Cancún’s Region 101, after armed individuals opened fire on a group of people socializing in a public street.

The incident occurred on 42nd Street, when two individuals traveling on a motorcycle approached the location and, without a word, fired multiple shots at one of the people present. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Neighbors alerted emergency services around 12:30 a.m., prompting paramedics from the Red Cross to respond. However, upon arrival they confirmed the victim no longer showed signs of life. The man had at least four gunshot wounds.

Preliminary and unofficial reports identified the victim as Henry P., approximately 34 years old, known by the nickname “Shoker.”

It emerged that the man had recently been released from the Cancún Social Reintegration Center, though this information has not been confirmed by authorities.

Municipal and State Police officers cordoned off the area and deployed a search operation in the vicinity, though no arrests have been reported so far.

Criminal investigators and agents from the Investigative Police collected ballistic evidence and processed the scene.

Relatives of the deceased arrived at the site after being notified of the attack. Neighbors indicated the man no longer lived in the area and had returned only to visit acquaintances during the December holiday festivities.

The State Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation file to clarify the facts, determine the motive for the attack, and locate those responsible. The body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for the required autopsy. (Agency SIM)
