PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MX — A group of individuals captured and tied up a man who allegedly abused a female dog this morning near the long-distance bus terminal of the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" Taxi Union in Playa del Carmen.

Around 9 a.m., individuals reported via the 911 emergency number that they had beaten a man and subsequently tied him to a wall after he was caught in the act of abusing the dog.

Personnel from the Secretary of Citizen Security immediately traveled to the area and, upon arrival, found the subject tied up and beaten.

The dog was evaluated by emergency response teams that arrived shortly after, but it was not removed from the location by the police officers.

The subject, identified as Félix "N", 61 years old, was ultimately arrested and transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office, where his legal situation will be determined.
