Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A woman was assaulted in the Villas del Sol neighborhood after reportedly going to return belongings to her ex-partner. Following an exchange of words, the man lost control and repeatedly struck her, marking another episode of violence now under investigation by authorities.
The incident occurred yesterday morning on Correcaminos cul-de-sac with Azulejos Avenue, when a woman asked neighbors for help after being beaten by a man who was inside the location. She managed to flee to avoid injuries that could have ended her life.
Upon arrival, Municipal Police officers asked what had happened, and the woman narrated that she had brought some belongings to her ex-partner’s house. He began arguing with her and subsequently beat her in a fit of rage because she refused to return to him.
Civil Protection paramedics provided first aid and transported her to the hospital, while authorities conducted an operation to locate the suspect who fled after committing this act.
The victim was supported by the Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence (GEAVIG) to also file a complaint against this person so he can subsequently be located and detained.
