Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office reported Tuesday morning that a judge has ordered Carlos Eder "N" and Glenda Magali "N" to stand trial for alleged crimes related to the sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl. Both individuals were remanded to preventative prison for the duration of the judicial process.
Carlos Eder "N" faces charges of sexual abuse and rape. Glenda Magali "N", the victim's mother, was charged with neglect for failing to protect her daughter.
A Pattern of Abuse and Inaction
According to the accusations, the initial incident occurred in April 2023 at a residence on Rosas Street in the Jardines neighborhood. The prosecution alleges that Carlos Eder "N" exploited his familial proximity to the victim to inappropriately touch the minor and then warned her not to tell anyone.
In the days that followed, the victim reported the abuse to her mother, Glenda Magali "N". The mother allegedly dismissed the report and instructed the girl to remain silent.
The prosecution further states that the abuse escalated later. In May and July of 2025, the defendant allegedly raped the minor in the patio of the home, threatening both her and her younger brother with a firearm. The victim reportedly alerted her mother once more, who again ignored the accusations.
Legal Proceedings Begin
The case was brought to the authorities after a formal complaint was filed by another relative. Following an investigation, both suspects were detained and turned over to the requesting authority.
A control judge ruled to formally charge Carlos Eder "N" with sexual abuse and rape, and Glenda Magali "N" with neglect for failing in her duty of care. The court also ordered that both defendants remain in custody as the judicial process moves forward.
