125 Pairs of New Shoes Delivered to Cozumel Children
The Loving Steps A.C. association delivered 125 pairs of new shoes to girls and boys in vulnerable situations in Cozumel as part of its annual initiative, in an event that combined social support, community interaction, and solidarity commitment.
A total of 125 pairs of new shoes were delivered to preschool and elementary school children in Cozumel as part of the annual “Loving Steps 2025” initiative, led by the Loving Steps A.C. association and supported by businesspeople and citizens. The action aimed to support children in vulnerable situations and guarantee them a basic resource for their school and daily development.
The delivery took place at San Gervasio Park, where the beneficiaries received the footwear in a festive atmosphere that included games, creatively shaped balloons made by clowns Kevin and Huesitos, face painting, and food specially prepared for them. The event was marked by joy and family interaction, reinforcing the community spirit of the activity.
San Gervasio Park hosted a day full of joy and family interaction. During the event, thanks were given to the donors who made the delivery possible, with special recognition to Jeff Hanson, founder of Loving Steps A.C., and Fernando Edwin Segovia Sánchez, president of the association, who led the initiative alongside municipal authorities. It was highlighted that these actions not only cover an immediate need but also strengthen families and foster community unity.
Segovia recalled that the project was started by Hanson 14 years ago and that, since then, it has been maintained as an annual tradition thanks to the joint effort of various social sectors. He emphasized that the beneficiary selection process is carried out carefully to ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
Members of Loving Steps A.C. led the delivery alongside municipal authorities. This year’s shoe delivery reaffirms Loving Steps A.C.’s commitment to Cozumel’s children and consolidates the initiative as an example of collaboration between civil society and the community, as it seeks not only to address a basic need but also to create interaction spaces that strengthen the social fabric and provide hope to island families.
