Tulum, Quintana Roo — The municipality of Tulum has once again been the site of an emblematic wildlife sighting with the recording of a male jaguar in the vicinity of Tulum National Park.
The National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (Conanp) reported that the feline was captured by camera traps placed near the archaeological zone. This finding reinforces the environmental relevance of this region of Quintana Roo and the permanence of key species in its ecosystem.
Through an official publication, Conanp released a video showing the animal roaming the area for several days. The record not only generated interest among residents and visitors, but also underscored the importance of maintaining monitoring and conservation actions in natural spaces with high biodiversity.
The presence of this specimen once again highlighted the biological richness that Tulum safeguards. For specialists and environmental authorities, these records allow them to monitor wildlife and assess habitat conditions.
Finally, the Conanp, responsible for managing 232 federal Protected Natural Areas, highlighted the importance of protecting these environments to conserve emblematic species of Mexico.
