Israel — The Embassy of Israel in Mexico expressed its gratitude to the Government of Mexico for the work of its national intelligence and security services, following the neutralization of an attempted attack directed by Iran against Israeli Ambassador Einat Kranz Neiger.
According to the diplomatic representation, timely cooperation between the two countries allowed the terrorist intentions to be thwarted before they represented a real threat.
In a statement, the embassy highlighted that Israeli intelligence agencies will continue to work "tirelessly and in full cooperation with their counterparts around the world" to prevent attacks by groups or agents linked to Iran.
The representation further stated that the Iranian regime has repeatedly reiterated its hostility towards the State of Israel and its population, promoting actions and rhetoric that incite violence.
The case occurs in a context of high tension in the Middle East. According to the embassy, Israel currently maintains a ceasefire agreement in Gaza with the support of countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Qatar, while Iran continues to promote destabilizing actions through allied groups.
U.S. officials also confirmed that the attempted attack was planned by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran and was thwarted in the summer of 2025 thanks to the intervention of the Mexican security services.
Washington emphasized that the plot does not represent a current threat and acknowledged the work of international cooperation that made it possible to guarantee diplomatic security on Mexican soil.
