Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The municipal government will officially hand over the newly renovated Plaza Ejidatarios on April 30, coinciding with Children’s Day celebrations, Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde announced.
The third and final phase of the project has transformed the public square into a modern, functional, and safe meeting point with new spaces, a mural, and a pedestrian area, according to the mayor.
Gómez Ricalde said the renovation aims to provide families with a dignified space for recreation and community building, strengthening the social fabric of the island.
The project is part of a broader municipal effort to recover and upgrade public spaces across Isla Mujeres, the mayor added.
