Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The community of Puerto Aventuras is in mourning following the death of an infant whose body was taken without vital signs to the local Health Center in this Playa del Carmen municipality.
According to available information, the child’s father brought the baby to the medical facility seeking care, reporting that the infant was experiencing health problems. Upon evaluation by medical staff, it was confirmed that the baby no longer showed signs of life.
In accordance with established protocols, Health Center personnel notified municipal authorities. Security officers responded to the scene and gathered preliminary information, including a statement from the father, who indicated that the infant reportedly had a congenital heart condition.
The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has taken over the case and initiated the corresponding investigative procedures to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death. The infant’s body will undergo a legally mandated autopsy, which will determine the precise cause of death and rule out any possible irregularities.
Authorities stated that an official conclusion will be issued once forensic results are available.
