Cancún, Mexico — A tourist from the Netherlands recovered her mobile phone with the assistance of the Cancún police after reporting the device lost. The woman went to the facilities of the police corporation to request help, indicating that her cell phone, an Apple device valued at 800 euros, or a little more than 17,000 pesos, had been stolen.
The tourist also reported that the GPS located the phone at a residence in the Villas Otoch subdivision. Municipal agents accompanied the tourist to the location indicated by the application, situated in Supermanzana 247 of Cancún.
At the location, the police interviewed a taxi driver, who explained that the tourist had forgotten the phone on the back seat of his vehicle at the end of a trip. The taxi driver, setting an example for many of his colleagues, voluntarily handed the device over to the police, who confirmed with the owner that it was the missing cell phone.
The tourist thanked the taxi driver and the police officers for the help provided in recovering her property.
