Holbox, Quintana Roo. – To ensure the safety of families on Holbox Island, the environmental sanitation department has initiated street cleaning and tree pruning operations in various areas of the island.
Mayor Jafet Silbarán Escamilla reported that these efforts are primarily concentrated in adjacent and high-traffic zones. Additionally, they are being carried out in coordination with municipal staff.
He explained that one of the main objectives is to clear electrical wiring, a key action to prevent accidents and protect the population. These tasks are part of a preventive strategy against potential risks.
The mayor emphasized that the local government provided machinery to expedite the work. He noted that families have recognized the importance of these actions, as they contribute to safety and the positive image of the destination.
Furthermore, he stated that the improvement of streets, aided by current weather conditions, allows for a more orderly and secure environment. This is fundamental for welcoming national and international tourism.
Finally, Jafet Silbarán indicated that these actions prepare Holbox for the upcoming influx of visitors who come to enjoy its natural attractions, such as Isla Pasión and Isla Pájaros, thereby strengthening tourism activity and community well-being.
