Mexico City — Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro presented his latest film, "Frankenstein," in Mexico City on Monday, November 3, accompanied by the film's stars, Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac. This presentation marked the final stop of the film's promotional tour, according to Del Toro, who emphasized his desire to share his work with the people who follow and enjoy his films.
During a meeting with the press, Del Toro confessed that his relationship with "Frankenstein" has a personal connection, describing it as "everything, but from another age," referring to elements of his own personality present in the story.
Oscar Isaac, who plays Victor Frankenstein, explained that his character is not expressed solely as a scientist, but as an artist. "He is expressive, he is full of life, and that was something very different for me," Isaac stated.
Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi, tasked with bringing the monster to life, highlighted that the most valuable part of his experience was having worked alongside Guillermo del Toro.
The red carpet event became an intimate space for fans, as Del Toro spent several minutes signing posters, taking selfies, and interacting with those who attended the event. Similarly, Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi took the opportunity to share autographs and photographs with those present.
Prior to the filmmaker's arrival, various personalities walked the red carpet, including Andrea Legarreta, Mía, and Nina Rubín, who highlighted the talent of a Mexican like Del Toro.
In addition, the brother creators of "Soy Frankelda," Arturo and Rodolfo Ambriz Rendón, received advice from the director and acknowledged his human and professional quality. The actress and singer Paulina Goto emphasized that Del Toro always seeks to reveal the deepest parts of the soul in his projects.
It should be noted that "Frankenstein" premiered in Mexican movie theaters on October 23 and will arrive on the Netflix platform on November 7.
The film adapts the classic by Mary Shelley, set in 19th-century Eastern Europe, and narrates the story of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant scientist who gives life to a creature in an experiment that will mark the ruin of both. The film also features Christoph Waltz as Doctor Pretorious, who seeks out the Monster to continue Doctor Frankenstein's experiments.
With this presentation, Guillermo del Toro reinforces his reputation as one of the most prominent Mexican directors, a winner of multiple Academy Awards, and consolidates his artistic vision by blending fantasy, horror, and emotional depth on the big screen.
