Holbox, MX — In fulfillment of the commitment of her humanist government, with a feminist heart, in favor of the education of young people in rural communities, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa delivered three new classrooms for the community tele-high school on the island of Holbox. The classrooms were constructed on the premises of the local secondary school and will benefit 105 students.

Mara Lezama stated that investments in education are not an expense in this different government, but rather an investment in favor of the new generations, so that shared prosperity is reflected from now on in their educational process. She specified that this is possible because this government combats corruption so that money goes further.

Furthermore, she highlighted that these actions are framed within the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, which promotes an excellent, humanist, and transformative education, guaranteeing dignified and safe spaces so that children and young people can begin, continue, and conclude their studies without leaving their communities.

The Secretary of Education, Elda Xix Euán, emphasized that this delivery is part of the Governor’s permanent commitment to upper secondary education, especially in rural areas, where equity and educational inclusion are promoted.

The event was attended by the municipal president of Lázaro Cárdenas, Nivardo Mena; the honorary president of the Quintana Roo DIF System, Verónica Lezama; and the Secretary of Public Works, José Lara. They highlighted that the State Government has strengthened the community tele-high schools with the delivery of furniture, technological equipment, didactic and sports materials, as well as with academic and socio-emotional development programs that benefit 3,861 students throughout Quintana Roo.

A few weeks ago, in an act of labor justice, 237 appointments were also delivered to teachers from eight municipalities who work in the 79 community tele-high schools in the state, reaffirming the commitment of Mara Lezama’s government to a strengthened public education with a human face.
