Playa del Carmen — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa presented 189 certificates and licenses to real estate professionals, stating that this action marks a new chapter in the history of this sector's development, specifically in the Riviera Maya, where growth is constant.

"This is a step towards legality, trust, and professionalization. Every license we are delivering is a guarantee that real estate operations will be carried out by prepared, ethical men and women with a great commitment to transparency," the Governor affirmed.

During the event, held at the Sayab Planetarium and accompanied by Municipal President Estefanía Mercado, Mara Lezama reiterated that in this different form of governance, the objective is clear: they cannot continue doing the same thing if the results are not correct. Therefore, she reported that in just three years, the first official registry of real estate advisors and condominium administrators was consolidated, with more than 4,400 people trained, of which 2,327 are women. She described this as fundamental in this major destination that concentrates 41% of all real estate activity in the state.

"Hence the importance of this professionalization and this delivery of 145 new registration licenses and 44 renewal licenses. We have a Management System for Procedures and Services where anyone from anywhere can consult whether the advisor is registered and verify their license immediately," explained the head of the Executive branch.

The Governor of Quintana Roo made it clear that this helps reduce the risk of fraud and generates greater confidence in investment in the state, as people can know that work is being done in accordance with the law and with a focus on growth with well-being.

"We are doing it in this new form of governance, which I have called the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo. And yes, we will continue to promote that urban, inclusive, sustainable development, with citizen participation, with a vision for the future," asserted the head of the Executive.

For her part, Municipal President Estefanía Mercado highlighted that the delivery of these licenses is a firm step towards professionalization, transparency, and certainty, which generates confidence in investments.

The head of the Ministry of Sustainable Territorial and Urban Development (SEDETUS), José Alberto Alonso Ovando, reported that this event is part of the strategy to strengthen the legal and technical framework regulating the provision of real estate services in the entity, in compliance with the Law for the Provision of Real Estate Services of the State of Quintana Roo, updated during this new, different government.

Alonso Ovando added that this is a decisive step towards the consolidation of a more transparent, professional real estate sector with legal certainty, considering that it is the second-largest generator of the economy after tourism, as training provides confidence and legal certainty when buying or selling homes.

Among others present on the podium were advisors Paula Zambrano and Ilona Tregubova, advisor Enrique Domínguez Mañueco, as well as Mariann González Pliego Castillo, General Director of the Public Registry of Property and Commerce.
