Cancún, MX — During the program "La Voz del Pueblo," Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa reiterated that free access to beaches is a right, not a privilege, and with that position, she lobbied President Claudia Sheinbaum to open the access points in the Parque del Jaguar in Tulum, which is now a reality.

She added that this position also brings regulation, which is why, together with the Ministry of Tourism (SEDETUR), work was done on signage to inform tourists from around the world, as well as residents, where these beaches are, how to get there, and to avoid bringing in alcoholic beverages, sunscreen, speakers, and anything that could affect the fauna and the environment.

The Governor of Quintana Roo recalled that this good news was confirmed by the federal Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, who was at the location this past Wednesday and verified all the work done: the five free beaches of the Parque del Jaguar and two more in the coastal zone, which are Playa del Pueblo and Playa Conchitas, representing well-being and shared prosperity for the residents of Tulum.

Furthermore, there is signage on the federal highway, including markings installed on the ground to guide visitors to the beaches and vertical signs that inform about regulations and direct people to the access points. There is also an official ticket booth for those who wish to enter the Museum, the Lookout, and other experiences inside the archaeological zone area.

Mara Lezama recalled that Tulum has a protected natural area and requires everyone to contribute to the conservation of this natural wealth for the enjoyment of all in this and future generations. She emphasized that caring for tourist destinations is for the well-being of the women and men who work in the industry.

"We are a government that does not improvise. We are working on the regulation of Tulum so that tourists can go and enjoy. As long as the sun continues to rise, Tulum will continue to shine; we will grow with regulation and care for the destinations," stated the head of the Executive Branch.

Likewise, she reported that through the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ), work is underway on a campaign called "As long as the sun continues to rise, Tulum will continue to shine." She added that the hotel occupancy statistics for December indicate that it looks spectacular.

And for Tulum to continue growing, Mara Lezama announced the Air Show Tulum for next year, scheduled from April 23 to 26, 2026, an aerial spectacle that marks the promotional launch for the Mexico Aerospace Fair (FAMEX) 2027. This Air Show will take place at the Tulum International Airport and will include parachutes, F5 aircraft, the Águilas Aztecas squadrons, and civilian acrobatic aircraft, which will be an aviation celebration.

On another topic, during the program, Governor Mara Lezama congratulated former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on his 72nd birthday, who made a historic investment for the well-being of Quintana Roo residents, with 12 Tren Maya stations, the Nichupté Bridge, and the Quintana Roo Park.

On "La Voz del Pueblo," the Governor provided an update on meteorological conditions so that people are well-informed. There is an atmospheric interaction due to a channel of low pressure in the western Caribbean Sea causing constant rains. A team of federal, state, and municipal agencies is working to ensure these rains cause the least possible damage, and she recommended the public exercise great caution, as the objective is people's safety.

She also stated that the "Laboratorio en tu Clínica" program is now in 73 health centers in Quintana Roo, serving the people to streamline diagnostic processes. There is a logistics plan with SEPOMEX for transporting samples to the laboratories. More centers will be added next year to these 73.

She also highlighted that during the "Buen Fin" sales season, which began this past Thursday, it is necessary to plan purchases and spending well, as while the goal is to reactivate both the household and the country's economy, care should be taken with online pages or when using ATMs.

Another topic highlighted by Mara Lezama is the opportunity now available to artisans at the Cozumel pier, where a space was opened to exhibit and sell their works. This happened during the arrival of the cruise ship Celebrity Cruises Xcel, whose first port of call in the world was Cozumel.

Furthermore, she indicated that Mexico is ready for the soccer World Cup and Cancún will host two national teams. It will also be the entry point for thousands of fans, as it has connections with 16 host cities.

Likewise, she celebrated that the Executive Secretariat of Citizen Security recognized a 57.3% decrease in intentional homicides in Quintana Roo, a result of coordinated work with the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, and the members of the three levels of government at the Security Roundtable.
