Cozumel — The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC), in coordination with the "Pajareando Cozumel" association, held a Bird Observation Day titled "Observing with the heart" in the Corazón Urban Park. The event saw participation from people of all ages, and a total of 23 bird species were identified during the tour.

The activity brought together entire families and nature lovers who share a passion for birds, offering a learning and social experience in a natural environment that encourages contemplation and respect for biodiversity.

The manager of the Corazón Urban Park, biologist Adrián Tun, welcomed attendees. Alongside natural resource managers María Carolina Can Martínez and Germán Arturo Borges Arceo, members of "Pajareando Cozumel," they guided the activity. Participants learned to use binoculars and identify some of the species inhabiting the area, marveling at the songs and colors of the birds' plumage observed during the day.

Regarding the event, the Director General of the FPMC, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, emphasized that these types of activities strengthen the community's connection with nature and foster a culture of conservation. She noted that these actions align with the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, which encourages the creation and preservation of safe and accessible spaces for all people, fostering community interaction and care for the natural environment.

The FPMC continues to promote educational and recreational activities that bring the community closer to the knowledge and protection of the island's natural wealth.
