Quintana Roo, Mexico — Authorities have formally charged four suspects in connection with three separate homicide cases across the state of Quintana Roo, including incidents in Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Benito Juárez.
In the first case, a judge in Tulum ordered Marcos Octavio “N” and Alex Adrián “N” to stand trial for the aggravated homicide of an unidentified man on March 5 of this year. The victim was shot to death, and the case is allegedly linked to drug trafficking activities.
The second case involves Estanislao “N”, who was charged with aggravated homicide in the deaths of two male victims in Playa del Carmen. According to investigations, the incident occurred on February 25, 2023, when the suspect and others allegedly agreed to kill the two men due to conflicts between criminal groups. The victims were attacked with bladed weapons inside a residence in the Santa Fe del Carmen neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.
In a third case, Isidoro “N” was formally charged with the aggravated homicide of an unidentified male victim in Benito Juárez. The incident occurred on June 4, 2021, at a residence in Supermanzana 231, where the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a blunt object, causing fatal injuries. The suspect then attempted to conceal the crime by setting the body on fire inside the home. An arrest warrant was executed in collaboration with the State Prosecutor’s Office of Guanajuato, where the suspect was already in custody on unrelated charges.
All four suspects have been ordered to remain in preventive detention for up to two years or for the duration of the legal proceedings.
