Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A foreign minor was intoxicated and robbed of her belongings after purchasing a package to visit the nightclub Coco Bongo, according to reports.

Incident Details

The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, though the victim’s complaint began circulating later that evening. Private paramedics attended to the tourist on 12th Street, between 20th and 25th Avenues in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood, after she suffered convulsions from ingesting what is suspected to be adulterated drugs or alcohol.

The victim, believed to be an American national, was later stabilized at IMSS Bienestar hospital. Her mother reported that they were staying at the RIU Hotels chain in Playacar and had purchased a package for Coco Bongo the previous day, which included round-trip transportation.

Robbery Follows Medical Emergency

The mother stated that during the return trip, her daughter began feeling unwell, lost consciousness, and convulsed. After being abandoned and assisted by paramedics, the minor was taken to the hospital. While in the emergency room, a van with federal license plate 37-RD-3Y, belonging to Titos Tours (vehicle number 09), arrived.

Five individuals exited the van, approached the minor, and forcibly took her belongings, including an iPhone. They allegedly told the mother she owed payment before fleeing the scene. The mother attempted to pursue them but was unsuccessful.

Aftermath and Complaint

The tourists later returned to their hotel on their own and filed a complaint with the agent who sold them the Coco Bongo package.

The case remains under investigation.
