Progreso, Yucatán — Dozens of private vessels gathered near the ferry terminal at the Puerto Remoto de Progreso on Saturday, November 15, to bid farewell to the Buque Escuela Cuauhtémoc, the iconic sailing ship of the Mexican Navy, as it concluded a six-day visit.

Content creator Omaro Cruz shared a video on social media showing a large number of yachts and boats that converged on the area to accompany the ship as it set sail for the port of Veracruz. As the Cuauhtémoc got underway, the cadets, who are future naval officers, were observed positioned on the ship’s masts, an institutional practice representing a salute to the host territory.
