Five Criminals Arrested in Cancún Drug Bust

Police arresting suspects in Cancún for drug trafficking and murder

Cancún, QR — Five individuals from a violent criminal gang involved in drug trafficking and murder have been arrested in Cancún. Police carried out the arrests in two operations on Friday.

Agents reported the capture of Abraham “N” while he was riding a motorcycle on Arco Norte Avenue, between Palma Canario and Palma Paraíso, in Supermanzana 260.

He was found in possession of a 9 mm caliber pistol with loaded magazines, substances resembling marijuana, methamphetamine, and crack.

Marcos Antonio “N”, Edén Israel “N”, Eliseo “N”, and Naydelin del Carmen were also detained on Friday. They were arrested during surveillance patrols on Isla de Pascua Street between Isla Haití Avenue and Isla Tunes in Supermanzana 251.

The agents who arrested them found them in possession of various amounts of green herb with characteristics similar to marijuana, as well as substances with the appearance of crystal and crack, in addition to cartridges.

According to initial police investigations, the five allegedly belong to a violent criminal group dedicated to drug sales in the municipality.

Police say they also link them to the homicide of a male that occurred on October 28 of this year in Supermanzana 251 of Paseos del Mar.
