In the wake of a violent confrontation in the Solidaridad neighborhood on Friday afternoon, which resulted in two fatalities and two injuries, five bodies were discovered at the Sacxán bus stop in Ribera del Río Hondo early Saturday morning. All five bodies bore signs of violence, and one man was found alive but recently kidnapped.
Unconfirmed reports also suggest that three more bodies have been found in the nearby community of Melchor Ocampo, which borders Campeche. According to a 911 call made at approximately 3:20 AM on Saturday, several bodies were spotted at the Sacxán bus stop. The victims showed signs of torture, were bound and blindfolded, and had gunshot wounds to the head.
A threatening message directed at a suspected criminal group was found on a cardboard sign placed on one of the bodies. Preliminary reports suggest that four of the victims hailed from the El Palmar community and one from Ucum, though this information has not been confirmed.
The Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) is currently processing the scene. In related news, police successfully rescued a man named Mauricio Arroyo Julio, who had been kidnapped last Wednesday. It's worth noting that a motorcycle was set ablaze in the Ucum community on Friday night, and four houses in Sacxán were also targeted. Authorities are investigating any potential links to the aforementioned murders.
On Tuesday night, a man identified as Guilbert Córdova Hernández, 35, was shot and killed while riding his motorcycle near the Javier Rojo Gómez town hall football field. Reports of three additional murders in the Melchor Ocampo community remain unconfirmed due to limited communication in the area.
