TULUM — An emergency response was mobilized after a report alerted authorities to a fire inside a residence in Tulum. The affected property owner stated he knew who might have caused the incident, leading the investigation to focus on a possible intentional act.
The incident took place in the La Veleta neighborhood, specifically on Leo Sur street, between Saturno and Jupiter. With no one found inside the home, firefighters focused their efforts on controlling the blaze and preventing further damage.
Firefighters responded to control the incident and prevent it from spreading to adjacent structures. Meanwhile, Public Security agents cordoned off the area to allow for emergency operations and to secure the scene for investigative purposes.
During the intervention, the property owner informed authorities that it could be a deliberately provoked act, as he suspects a particular person. This statement is part of the inquiries that will determine whether the fire was caused intentionally or occurred due to accidental causes.
The incident resulted only in material losses. The Civil Protection authority will conduct an additional technical inspection, and ministerial experts will determine the causes of the incident in the coming days.
