Federal Forces Raid Organized Crime Ranches in Yucatan

Yucatan, Mexico — Federal security forces conducted simultaneous raids on ranches in three Yucatan municipalities early Sunday morning, targeting properties linked to organized crime groups operating in the region.

Unofficial reports indicate that personnel from the National Guard, Mexican Army, and Mexican Navy carried out operations in the municipalities of Buctzotz, Tizimín, and Panabá as part of ongoing investigations into drug trafficking networks.

Buctzotz: El Cedro Ranch Seized

In Buctzotz, authorities seized the “El Cedro” ranch as part of an investigation to locate at least three high-priority targets in the drug trafficking underworld.

The property had previously been linked to high-impact operations in June 2025, when authorities detained three individuals. According to a June 2, 2025 report, state and federal security forces raided the ranch and captured three people identified as alleged members of the criminal group known as the Millennium Cartel, which has ties to the Michoacán Family.

The operation, conducted by the State Investigation Police (PEI) in coordination with the Public Security and Citizen Protection Department, National Guard, and Mexican Army, resulted from strategic monitoring of suspicious activities in the area.

Among those detained were B. Valencia, alias “María la Michoacana,” her brother A. Valencia, both originally from Michoacán and identified as descendants of the founders of the defunct Millennium Cartel, as well as a third individual from the municipality itself.

According to unofficial sources, police deployment activated after detecting the presence of an associate of Servando G. M., alias “La Tuta,” former leader of the Knights Templar. The individual, who reportedly arrived in Buctzotz to attend a private meeting, escaped minutes before authorities intervened.

During the ranch raid, authorities seized firearms for exclusive military use along with various quantities of illicit substances. Sources also indicated that investigators found evidence of drug trafficking activities on the property, including a clandestine landing strip and luxury vehicles.

During Sunday’s operations, federal personnel entered the property and maintained security while conducting procedures. For several hours, access to the site remained restricted, with preventive tape marking the perimeter to prevent unauthorized entry.

Authorities have not reported any arrests or additional seizures from the Buctzotz operation.

Tizimín: Raids Target Sinaloa Cartel-Linked Properties

The second intervention by heavily armed agents occurred at a ranch along the Tizimín-Colonia Yucatán highway stretch.

Authorities apparently attempted to detain an individual linked to organized crime belonging to the Sinaloa Cartel with connections in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

According to unofficial data, the person under investigation has acquired multi-million dollar properties in the area exceeding 10,000 hectares that authorities suspect are being used to launder millions of pesos of dirty money belonging to the Sinaloa Cartel originating from Playa del Carmen.

However, due to the importance of the investigations involving significant targets in Mexico’s geodelictive map, officials have maintained secrecy regarding official data contributions.

Panabá: Third Raid Conducted

A third raid occurred at a ranch in the Panabá municipality, in the Yalsihom area following the route toward the coast.
