Cancún, Quintana Roo — Authorities are investigating a possible extortion case after an armed attack left a man wounded in Cancún’s Region 91 on Thursday night.
Armed subjects shot a man on 20th Street at Lombardo Toledano Avenue in superblock 91. The victim was transported to General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
After nine o’clock on Thursday night, authorities were alerted about a shooting victim near the old municipal cemetery in superblock 91, two blocks from José López Portillo Avenue. Red Cross paramedics took the injured man to General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Relatives of the victim pointed to a residence at superblock 70 on CTM Street where the alleged perpetrators were located, leading to a security operation that resulted in the detention of three men and two women.
It emerged that the attack could be related to extortion demands, as the victim owns a fish market on Arco Norte. However, authorities will provide further details about this armed attack.
