The 11th annual "Paint and Run 5K" carnival race in Cozumel has set a new attendance record, with over 2,000 participants running along the island's promenade.

Mayor José Luis Chacón and his wife, Diana Sosa Blanco, welcomed everyone to the event. They expressed their gratitude to all participants for being part of this colorful race, which is held annually on Carnival Monday. This year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Child Development Centers (CENDIS) in Cozumel.

"This event is more than just a race, it's a cause. It's an inclusive space where families can have fun in a healthy way. We're dedicated to supporting this event in the future so it continues to be a highlight of the carnival. Thank you all for making this afternoon a day full of color," said Mayor Chacón.

Before the race began, the organizers held activities where prizes from sponsors were given out. Warm-up exercises were led by "Ferkerr," the Carnival King of 2025. The race started and ended at the flagpole, and at the finish line, participants were greeted with a vibrant color cloud. This unique experience makes Carnival Monday an unforgettable day for those who eagerly anticipate the "Paint and Run" each year.
