Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) inaugurated the watercolor exhibition “Entorno Natural” by artist Fabio Latorre Ramírez at the Museum of the Island, featuring 20 works that guide viewers from Cozumel’s docks and waterfront to the historic city of Antigua, Guatemala.

Museum director Isela Carrillo Cupul led the opening ceremony, joined by FPMC council member Alejandro Queb Franco and museographer Satoko Kitamura, who supported the painter in his first island presentation.

Representing FPMC general director Juanita Alonso Marrufo, Carrillo Cupul and Queb Franco presented Latorre with an award recognizing his career and choice of the Museum of the Island to debut his work for Cozumel residents and national and international tourists visiting the cultural landmark.

The painter explained that the “Entorno Natural” series captures water scenes and architectural harmony, using watercolor’s transparency and luminosity to transform fleeting moments into lasting images that invite viewers to rediscover everyday beauty.

The exhibition aligns with Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama’s New Agreement for Well-being and Development, promoting equitable cultural access and community engagement through open, plural spaces.
