Mandatory Registration for Cozumel’s Fifth Gastronomic Festival
Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Restaurateurs, chefs, and local producers on the island have until December 13 to register with the Quintana Roo State Tourism Registry (RETUR Q), a mandatory requirement to participate as exhibitors in the Fifth Gastronomic Festival of Cozumel. The international event will take place in late February at Benito Juarez Park and is expected to attract between 4,000 and 5,000 visitors, according to municipal Tourism Director Elías Farah Ce.
Farah Ce explained that the call is aimed at the local gastronomic sector, with the purpose of integrating businesses and projects that wish to showcase their culinary proposals in this edition. However, he noted that in addition to having RETUR Q registration, participants must be up to date with their operational and health permits, thus guaranteeing the quality and safety of the products offered.
Although the festival has international reach, the Cozumel Gastronomic Council is the body responsible for extending invitations to other municipalities and the guest country, reinforcing the destination’s projection as a venue for highly relevant events.
Farah Ce emphasized that this gathering will serve to promote the island within the gastronomic segment, demonstrating that Cozumel has the capacity to host high-level activities.
In previous editions, the festival has brought together renowned national and international chefs, as well as local producers who have had the opportunity to exhibit the island’s culinary richness. Activities include gastronomic displays, workshops, conferences, and cultural presentations, allowing attendees to enjoy a comprehensive experience.
The Tourism Director underscored that such events not only strengthen Cozumel’s gastronomic identity but also generate a positive impact on the local economy by attracting visitors and promoting the participation of various productive sectors, consolidating the municipality as a reference point in organizing festivals that combine culture, tourism, and gastronomy.
