Property Regularization Census in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras

Officials conducting property census in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras

Playa del Carmen, MX. As part of efforts to regularize invaded properties in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras, authorities have initiated a census to determine the legal status of the properties and, above all, the number of lots to be regularized.

According to Rusbel Pat, director of Citizen Participation, the greatest progress has been made in Puerto Aventuras, where they have already surveyed some neighborhoods such as Los Sauces and Eben Ezer. He highlighted that properties owned by the municipal government will be the easiest to regularize since the paperwork is already in place, while in the case of Los Sauces, an agreement has already been reached with federal authorities.

Additionally, for 2026, he commented that they will support affected families with mortgage issues, emphasizing that they will also conduct a census to identify affected families and especially the companies that mortgaged their homes.

As an example, he cited the Villas Riviera subdivision, where they already have more than a thousand requests for intervention.
