Cancún, Mexico — For four days, music will take shape through the piano during the fourth edition of the Cancún Piano Festival. This event celebrates one of the most versatile instruments in musical history while promoting dialogue among performers, teachers, and new generations.

The City Theater will be one of the festival’s venues. The gathering will also bring together artists, students, and the general public, creating a space for exchange between interpretation, pedagogy, and the showcasing of emerging talents.

This year’s programming was designed to offer a comprehensive experience. In this way, the public can approach the piano from different artistic and educational perspectives throughout the festival.

The festival will begin on Thursday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. The inaugural concert, titled “Night of Masters,” will bring together distinguished performers and set the artistic tone for the event.

Festival Schedule

On Friday, February 6 at 11:30 a.m., the keynote lecture “Current Challenges for Concert Production” will be offered. The activity will be led by Francisco Hernández Bolaños, director of the Cancún Classical Orchestra. It will take place at the Anáhuac Cancún University Auditorium with free admission.

That same day, at 6:30 p.m., the public can enjoy the educational recital “The Mozarts, Family Portraits.” This proposal combines music and history, thus providing an accessible approach to the legacy of one of the most influential dynasties in classical music.

On Saturday, February 7 at 10:00 a.m., a Master Class will be taught by Dr. Isabel Ladrón de Guevara at Estudio Vivaldi Música, with a participation fee.

Subsequently, at 7:30 p.m., the recital “Evenings ‘Crown of the Crown'” will take place. Pianist Miguel Lecueder, originally from Uruguay, will be in charge of the concert. Access will be by reservation with limited capacity.

Finally, on Sunday, February 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the festival will close with “Our Young Talents.” This day will be dedicated to new generations of pianists seeking to share their artistic growth.

More than just a series of concerts, the Cancún Piano Festival establishes itself as a space for training, listening, and intergenerational encounter. In this context, learning and musical enjoyment advance together.
